Good evening everybody!
Tomorrow, Saturday 1st October, Slim Jim Phantom plays in Osaka with The Furious. What a better way to start the weekend with a new live recording!

To be honest, I cannot decide who is worse, either Tim Polecat or Mark Harman of The Restless. With these two guys, Slim Jim has been inmersed in a couple of tours... everybody has to pay the bills at the end of the month and for sure having the chance to see some rockabilly legends at your local club in a small village is better than having anything, but definetely not this combination.

I have never found The Restless interesting at all and though Mark Harman is a good guitar player is way to much "1, 2, 3, 4" beat all the time, way to "clock machine" for my liking. Well executed but he lacks musicality as well as singing quality.

I guess that Slim Jim and Mark Harman mounted this tour was because it had been cancelled in 2008 just two weeks before it was going to start... so, somehow they owed it to the promotors, booking agencies... I have no clue, but having listened to this recording - which I keep as a part of the Stray Cats & Slim Jim Phantom history - I would have never ever attended a show like this.

Same old Stray Cats set based set list, some songs sang by Steve Whitehouse of Frenzy (now with the Blue Cats) who for sure was the key to the shows. He is pure energy when it comes to enjoying the music and connecting with the audience. He did sing some songs, which well... no comments really, but he was the key to it. Short show and as far as Ive heard from some attendees, Slim Jim had a bit of an airy-fairy Hollywood star and did not stop with anybody on many shows... Nothing new really, same old same old but well... it is, as I have said, part of Stray Cats history.

Slint

Slint Slint are a four-piece post-rock/math rock/indie rock band from Louisville, Kentucky who were originally around from 1986 to 1990.
